Starting up a blog is really exciting.
You obviously started your blog because you’ve an interest that’s close to your heart, and you want to express your passion and your thoughts on this topic. You’re keeping up with your blogging and you’re covering so many angles of this favourite topic of yours, but what happens when you’re out of ideas? After having blogged about your favourite topic for so long you might feel as if you’ve covered it all, and you kind of lose your inspiration and motivation.
So, how do you keep motivated? Start by looking around you – what inspires you? All ideas for your blogposts don’t have to come from you – you’re allowed to get inspired by other things as well. The simplest place to start with is by reading magazines on your blogging topic and visit relevant forums. See what people with the same interests as you are talking about. There are so many things that can help motivate and inspire you. Websites such as Pinterest and Stumble Upon are great resources for discovering new and exciting things.
Brainstorm ideas with other bloggers. Have you ever thought of doing a guest post swap? This will bring a lot of new readers to your blog which will hopefully boost your creative thinking about new and fresh blogposts. Plus, by posting something by another blogger on your own blog you’ll get another person’s view on the topic, which can help inspire you even more.
If your blog is about a creative topic such as culture or fashion – make sure to take a camera with you everywhere you go. You never know what you’re going to bump in to, so make sure you don’t miss the opportunity!
Many bloggers who start writing sponsored posts lose their motivation to keep up with their normal blogging. Even if getting paid is really motivational you can’t make every post on your blog a sponsored one! Don’t wait around for paid opportunities to show up without blogging at all in between. It is essential that you keep writing normal posts as well, both for your own sake and for your readers’. Don’t ever forget why you started up your blog. Wasn’t it because of your passion in the first place?
